Fresh Air, We Care: Everything You Need To Know About HVAC Systems

First of all, welcome to our new site! Take a look around, and get ready for a blog post every month on entertaining engineering topics. This month it's about breathing fresh air indoors, take a look.

We throw acronyms around quite a bit at 3C, so we are sure you’ve heard us say “HVAC” before. But what exactly is it, and why is it important? Here’s your insider’s guide to this very important building feature.

HVAC is short for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. This innovative system is in charge of the air quality in medium to large structures. Providing optimal thermal comfort and maintaining indoor air quality, this system needs to be routinely regulated to make sure it’s working at it’s highest potential. Stagnation is never a good sign, and can be a huge health issue if it goes undetected.

There are some serious risks to a malfunctioning HVAC system. Mold, mildew, and airborne bacteria are all health risks that will populate if the indoor air quality is subpar. A fully functioning system will also remove odors, dust, moisture, and carbon dioxide, keeping the air as fresh as it is outside.

If you have a building that needs it’s HVAC system evaluated, or are just curious to know if your system is working properly, we provide expert witness and forensic consulting to anyone in this position. Reduce allergies and airborne sicknesses, especially during the winter months by simply having your HVAC system fine tuned. The best part? You’ll be the hero at your office party for saving everyone from catching cold at once!

Have a great holiday season, and make sure to follow us on twitter (@3CEngineering) to stay up to date on our latest news around the office.
